Paul George

Perhaps the best man to partner up with LeBron James in Los Angeles is the LA native himself, Paul George. Unless you have been removed from the basketball world the last year or so, you have likely heard the vast speculation around George and his reported desire to join the Lakers. Even after being traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder, these Lakers rumors are still present.

That is why it makes so much sense for the former Eastern Conference foes to partner up on the West Coast. George has said himself that coming to Los Angeles is not a foregone conclusion. Although he would love to play in LA, the team would need to bring in other stars as well. George wants to win a ring and there is no better way to entice him other than bringing in LeBron.

The tricky part of this partnership would be who exactly played where. Brandon Ingram would undoubtedly take a back seat, giving the Lakers another great talent off the bench.

If the Lakers deal Julius Randle to get rid of Luol Deng’s contract, LA very well could experiment and put James at power forward. He is more than capable of doing so, and as he gets older, a move to the four may be better suited for his career.

The other option is to keep James at his natural small forward spot, moving Paul George back to shooting guard. George did play shooting guard earlier in his career; although small forward is a better fit, George would still make a great shooting guard.
