One more major injury could derail his NFL hopes

Losing their star QB for the second half of the entire season last year, the Bruins didn’t fare well without him in the lineup. When Rosen went down, UCLA went a woeful 1-5 after breaking even at 3-3 up to that point.

For Rosen, another long term injury or unsafe or unwise play with the ball in his hands could end up in NFL scouts and teams passing on him because of his being injury prone. However, if he can show that he can take the big hits while also being smart with the football, that could turn into a plus that in turn could boost his draft portfolio.

What he’ll have to do in order to prevent that is not run out of the pocket unless he knows he can gain yards as well as not trying to play games with the defense too much. It’s as simple as break the huddle, hike the ball, and then throw it away or go down quick if you feel the defenders got a break on the play.

Additionally, scouts will want to see that he can create problems for opposing teams when healthy, not just stay healthy and have average stats. This means that the lighter games on their schedule will have to be big productions for Rosen.
