The Southeast Division:

Much like the deal for Al Jefferson, trading for Dwayne Dedmon would act as an insurance policy for the future. The Atlanta Hawks are in full rebuild mode and they may have buyers remorse with Dedmon. Therefore, the team could look to swap the young center for cheaper, also young, options.

This deal is wise for both sides, especially considering the Hornets have a massive pay roll. Corey Brewer will be a free agent after this season, whereas Jeremy Lamb has one additionally season. The Hornets can free space for next year, and the Lakers can add depth to cushion the potential loss of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

This deal would act as another straight swap between two young talents. With Goran Dragic and Dion Waiters in the backcourt, the Heat can afford to part ways with Tyler Johnson. The perfect trade target for Johnson would be a young improving power forward, exactly what Randle is. Los Angeles then opens the door for Kyle Kuzma.

Starting to see a trend here? Another deal for an impact center, the Los Angeles Lakers could do business with the Orlando Magic for Nikola Vucevic. Vucevic would be the perfect option to succeed Lopez in Los Angeles. Clarkson and Zubac would fit the Magic’s young narrative perfectly, giving them more depth in multiple outlets.

Two juniors are in play here as the Lakers could trade their depth at power forward for more depth at small forward. Getting Kelly Oubre Jr. allows the team to move Kuzma to the natural four behind Randle. Also, the Wizards just signed Otto Porter to a monster contract, so Oubre may not be getting many minutes anyway.
