For the second year in a row, the Los Angeles Sparks and Minnesota Lynx are battling for the title of best team in the WNBA.

Last season the Los Angeles Sparks were the second best team record wise, yet they won the WNBA Finals. LA seems to be in the same position this year along with having a chance to end up as the top team in the WNBA.

In my previous article on LA when they were at 30 games I said they have two games left, it was four I was incorrect. This means they totally can catch the Lynx as they are a half game back and own the tiebreaker.

It will come down to the last two games. Nonetheless the Sparks must win out and hope the Lynx lose at least one of their final games. The Los Angeles Sparks embarrassed the Lynx on Sunday.

Thanks to Candace Parker of LA who posted a double-double. Parker’s performance led LA to stunning team victory as she recorded 24 points in 10 rebounds.

LA on the box score lost in the rebound and assists column. However, in all this they seemed to have found a way to bounce back and earn a victory.

One aspect of the game they did well was their field goal percentage, which explains why two other Sparks were in double figures as well. A unique trait in this game is the LA Sparks stole the ball twice as many time as their counterparts.

In just about most categories in the box score the Lynx won over the Sparks. Once again the Sparks actually won the game.

They came out victorious because the Sparks were able to draw fouls and earn their points from the charity stripe.  LA had 11 to 6 steals as well as 8 turnovers to their opponents 18.

The Sparks won since they earned trips to the free throw line and didn’t turnover the ball a lot.
