Lakers: Three huge returns LA could get if they deal Brandon Ingram
By Jason Reed
In what may be the “worst” deal on this list, here we see a potential trade that would land the one-time NBA Champion Kevin Love. The Cavaliers seem destined to implode, which may lead to a complete rebuild from the ground up. LeBron James may be heading to LA after this season anyways and if he wants, he very well could bring Kevin Love with him.
Although a lot of Laker fans aren’t the biggest fan of LeBron, bringing him in would only move Brandon Ingram to the bench. Therefore, it may be smarter to get something of Ingram and bring in a high profile power forward. Not only are they getting Love, they are getting rid of Luol Deng as well, which still leaves the team with some cap space to play with.
While Love has played worse in Cleveland than he did in Minnesota, he still is a very solid power forward. Love averaged 19 points, 11.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists last season. With Kyrie Irving now out of the picture, Love may get a bigger role if Isaiah Thomas does not dominate the ball in the same fashion as Irving.
Realistically, this deal only makes sense if the LeBron is a sure fire addition to the Lakers and he personally wants to bring in Kevin Love. In any other situation, this deal does not make that much sense as the Lakers don’t need a power forward. However, with the LeBron talks, this is a possibility.
