This deal mirrors the trade for Sammy Watkins identically. In the deal for Watkins, the Rams sent cornerback E.J. Gaines along with a second overall pick. While Inman may not be worth a second round pick, Harris is yet to really prove himself in the NFL. Therefore, the Chargers would be better off demanding the pick, as the Saints also have the 49ers second round pick.

The Saints could use one more solid receiver to sum up their corps. New Orleans traded number one option Brandin Cooks to the New England Patriots. Although the team now has Ted Ginn Jr, they could use the added depth. Willy Snead is a good number two option, but he more naturally fits in the slot while Inman can be the second wideout for Drew Brees.

Plus, the Saints can afford to part ways with a young corner. As of now, ESPN has Harris above first round pick Marshon Lattimore on the Saints depth chart. While that is not yet official, the Saints should be giving Lattimore as much time on the field as they can. If they want him to blossom, he needs to at least be the second corner.

That makes Harris the perfect asset to deal. The young corner is yet to prove himself in the NFL, only starting one game, but has shown great promise to become something special. New Orleans has a slew of young corners on their depth chart, Harris is just another spoke on the wheel that would fit perfectly in Los Angeles.
