The New York Jets are pretty bad and they can use all the help that they can get. Perhaps the biggest area of need in New York is the passing game. Not only do the Jets have mediocrity at quarterback, the quarterbacks they do have do not have that great of targets. When Quincy Enunwa is your best target, you know you are in trouble.

That is why a trade for Inman makes so much sense for the Jets. Realistically, Inman won’t be as good in New York simply due to bad quarterbacks. However, he arguably is better than any receiver already on the Jets and would give fans something to cheer about. This season is going to be a long one in New York, Inman can give them some positive light.

In return, the Jets can deal their now back up strong safety Rontez Miles. Miles has taken the back seat to first round draft pick Jamal Adams, who was ironically tied to the Chargers before the draft. Although Los Angeles did not pick up Adams in the draft, they can bolster their secondary by bringing in Miles.

Miles is by no means a world beater, but he is a good talent that would create a nice duo alongside Jahleel Addae. Miles forced two fumbles last season along with recording 49 total tackles. Again, not the most eye opening statistics, but he does bring a sense of physicality that otherwise is lost in the Chargers secondary.

Realistically, the Jets are probably getting the better side of the trade, as Inman is better than Miles. However, this does make the Chargers a better football team all around.
