Lakers Schedule: Predicting every game for the 2017-18 season
By Keith Rivas
Week 13
(23-17)
This game is going to be ugly, but not because it’s boring to watch. Up to this point, they’ve been healthy on all fronts. However, a starter will be injured in this game on a freak accident and the Lakers will suddenly feel like their in turmoil. There are three guys we could see get injured, with one being a reserve. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Brook Lopez, and Jordan Clarkson will be the guys to watch health wise this game. Not jinxing any of them, but at this point in the season it’s hard to see fatigue and/or injuries not being a factor.
(24-17)
Finally, the midway game. Halfway through the regular season, game 41 will be an opportunity for the leadership to start to show. The potential for big injuries to start popping up are a real threat to the immediate success team, and nobody knows that better than Magic Johnson. However, his belief in Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram are what will be on display versus San Antonio. And they’ll win at the buzzer, just to try and stop your heart.
(25-17)
Six of the next nine games at this point will be away from home for the Lakers. Given the circumstances, Lonzo Ball stepping up to the plate will be more important than ever. Dallas will have a lot of energy on both sides of the ball thanks to the recently drafted Dennis Smith Jr. This could be a problem, as Ball isn’t nearly as explosive. Thank a controversial call in the closing seconds for this win.
