Week 1

89. 20. 101. 77. Final

(0-1)

Before you jump at this score, we have to take a step back and be a bit realistic. Summer League may have gotten fans so hyped for Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram, that they have started to expect that they’ll win every game. The Clippers are going to have a new look themselves, and because they’ll be playing with less to lose, the pressure could easily get to the young guns. Don’t fret, though, this is just the first game.

66. 104. 20. Final. 96

(1-1)

Their first win of the 2017-18 season will be a road win over the Phoenix Suns, and deservedly so. This will also be a game where they can put on display why they took Lonzo Ball so high in the draft, especially over Josh Jackson, who Phoenix took fourth overall. Like the Lakers hype we’ve seen from the summer, there’s been some eyes on what Devin Booker and Josh Jackson could become. Expect Los Angeles to come out swinging and not allow that to happen. Also, breaking 100 points is a good sign for their overall scoring average.

20. 109. 69. Final. 107

(1-2)

Again, not a great way to start at home, but that’s what the Lakers have to expect for a learning curve. There isn’t really another way for the guys to get adjusted to all of the changes made in the summer without playing through them. This game will be fun to watch, as we’ll see how two pass heavy point guards in Lonzo Ball and Rajon Rondo duel it out. Both will have nice scoring weapons, with New Orleans having the big man advantage and edging the Lakers out.
