Lakers Rumors: Would a LeBron-Westbrook team lead to a ring? (Simulation)
By Jason Reed
In what has been a reoccurring trend in the latest Lakers rumors, multiple superstars are now tied together in the city of Angels.
First, it was Paul George, now it is LeBron James. The King has taken over the Lakers rumors and has resoundingly become the most talked about target for LA. With a career only spanning in the Eastern Conference, this move for James would present a new challenge.
Moving to the Pacific would square LeBron off against the Golden State Warriors four times a year. While James is the best player in basketball, him alone is not good enough to dethrone the Warriors in the West. Luckily for Laker fans, it seems like James has a new preferred dancing partner.
According to Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report, whispers around the NBA are signaling that James may want to team up with triple-double king Russell Westbrook. This partnership would give fans perhaps the most explosive 1-2 punch in the NBA. Here, you have two guys that can drop a triple-double any night they so please.
Plus, if Lonzo Ball lives up to the hype Los Angeles would then have three of these assets. While there would be some kinks in the hose, the Lakers could make a Westbrook-Ball backcourt happen.
With this being so intriguing, we hopped over on NBA 2K17, put this team together and simulated one season. The results, well, they are just what you would expect from a team with two superstars like James and Westbrook.
