The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have been without their star pitcher, Garrett Richards, since early April. However, the right-handed ace is set to return soon.

Garrett Richards is no stranger to injury. The Angels ace returned to the rotation this season after missing almost all of 2016. However, after a long, injury riddled road, the ace may be ready to return right in time for October.

Earlier this season he had an arm injury which caused him to sit out for most the season. This was devastating news for Angels fans everywhere and the clubhouse. After having nearly no bull pen last season what would the Halos do this season?

Well, the answer to that question is they figured it out. Also, they called up players from the minor leagues and current pitchers in the bull pen rotated and stepped up to the plate, literally.

Everyone rallied together. This rallying together has lead to the Angels to keep winning. Additionally, they are in the race of for the playoffs. They currently sit one game back of the second AL Wild Card spot.

Now Garret Richards, according to the LA Times, is ready to return to the Angels. His return coolant is more timely. Richards is ready to return just in time to help make a playoff push. Is this a coincidence?

More from Los Angeles Angels

I don’t think so. I think he is finally healthy and ready to ease back into the rotation. Then prove to the fans and critics who doubt him, he is an All-Star athlete by helping the Angels earn team victories and advancing in the playoffs.

LA has pitchers who will start and be rotated in games. This way he doesn’t have to play a complete game and he can rest to stay healthy. Garret Richards returning to the Angels from his arm injury adds to depth to the organization’s roster.

LA has been winning not only without Richards, but even when Mike Trout was out with an injury. The Angels have proven game in and game out they can compete with anyone. Additionally, to cap that off they have had multiple comebacks.

Their most recent comeback win was Saturday, September 2017 against the Texas Rangers.

Next: Sparks blow out win

Garret Richards is returning to the Angels at the perfect time. With new pieces in the clubhouse, the Angels look poised for a deep postseason push. Richards is another spoke on that wheel.
