1. Ball movement, pace of play

The biggest take away the basketball world had from the NBA Summer League is that Lonzo Ball looks head and shoulders above his fellow rookies. Well, that may be a bit of an exaggeration, but he was easily the hottest commodity in Las Vegas, hence why he won the MVP award. While the Summer League is not the same as the regular season, his best attribute will translate to the NBA.

That, of course, is his playmaking ability. NBA analysts have compared Ball to Jason Kidd for the way he can rebound, score and pass. Heck, some crazy statements, mostly made by his father, compare Ball to Lakers legend Magic Johnson. Regardless, Ball has a great vision of the court with the ability to make plays happen.

While Ball is just one person, he is running the offense at point guard and even off the court his effects were known. Whether Ball sat out or was on the bench in the Summer League, the Lakers kept up their fast pace of play, passing the basketball around with ease. The effects of the second overall draft pick were already being shown.

This is not just going to be a playmaking guard coming into an offense to change things, Ball is going to change the culture in Los Angeles. We have seen what it takes to be successful in the modern NBA, and pace play is up there at the top.

With so much youth on their side, the Lakers have the potential to be one of the quickest paced teams in the NBA; especially with a point guard like Lonzo Ball.
