Chargers haven’t won in Denver since 2013

You have to go back several seasons to the last time the then-San Diego Chargers won a road game versus the Broncos. It was only by the score of 27-20, and hasn’t happened since for the Bolts.

Denver has to do enough to protect their home field, and the Chargers know that coming in. For them to have any shot at overcoming this obstacle, they’re going to have to get sacks and fumbles as often as they can.

Stopping the Broncos offense as many times as possible in the first half will determine the tempo at which they can play after halftime. If by that point in the game Denver is still in control, the Chargers won’t have a chance.

It’s not an easy environment to win in, and the Broncos absolutely have that to their advantage. History matters when it comes to determining what will happen next, especially in the game of football.

That being said, this stat shouldn’t be taken lightly, but it’s probably one of the easier things for this Chargers team to deal with. This is the first time since 2008 that they’ve played in Denver before October, which could also be a factor in determining who wins the game.
