Four European soccer stars who should come to LA and join the MLS

Wayne Rooney, Striker at Everton
Another player who was rumored this summer to be making the move from England’s top league to the United States was Manchester United’s all-time leading goal scorer, Wayne Rooney. It was clear toward the end of last season that Rooney was not in Jose Mourinho’s future plans, and it was time for him to find his next career move.
The 31-year-old striker made it clear from the start of his decision-making process that he would either be coming to play in the MLS or returning to his boyhood club Everton. Rooney had played at Everton from the time he was nine until the club sold him to Manchester United at sixteen.
In the end, Rooney believed he still had enough in the tank to continue playing European football at the top-level and made an emotional decision to rejoin Everton where he was given a hero’s welcome home. However, Rooney could still make an impact at Everton before deciding to end his career in the United States.
Something that people tend to criticize when it comes to Rooney’s skills is that he is not very fast once he has the ball at his feet. The more physical, technical style of play in the MLS will suit Rooney’s skill set much more than the English game where speed is becoming a much more desirable characteristic of a striker.
Still, with 183 goals to his name at Manchester United, there’s no denying Rooney’s prowess in front of the net. He still possesses the ability to score from distance, and these are the type of goals that cause fans to fall in the love with the game.
Manchester United has the largest following of any club in the world, so there’s no doubt that fans in Los Angeles are already familiar with the English superstar. He is a real candidate to join either Los Angeles club at the conclusion of his days at Everton.
