Cristiano Ronaldo, Midfielder at Real Madrid

Widely regarded as the greatest soccer player in the world, and perhaps of all-time, Cristiano Ronaldo is the type of transcendent talent that would elevate soccer’s popularity in the United States to the next level.

At 32 years of age, there is not much Ronaldo hasn’t accomplished in his illustrious career with Manchester United and Real Madrid. He has won four Champions League trophies in addition to four Ballon d’Or awards given to the best soccer player in the world each year.

If Ronaldo ever made the decision to come to the MLS, Los Angeles is the perfect destination. He is without a doubt an international celebrity, so living a luxurious life in the City of Angels is definitely something that would appeal to the Portuguese superstar.

As far as on-field play is concerned, Ronaldo would dominate the competition and put any team that he joins directly into contention for the MLS Cup. He has scored 285 goals in 265 appearances for Real Madrid, who play in one of the toughest leagues in the world.

As far as business opportunities, Ronaldo could grow his CR7 brand exponentially if he came to the United States. He has already opened boutiques in his home country of Portugal, but reaching the United States market would be something that could grow his wealth to where he could pass Floyd Mayweather Jr. as the richest athlete on the planet.
