LA Sparks: Candace Parker leads team to victory with double-double
Candace Parker helped lead the LA Sparks to their final victory of the WNBA regular season with another double-double.
Parker was one of five players double figures for the LA Sparks. Once again the Sparks won playing as an entire unit. By playing as an entire unit they were able to win in an orderly fashion.
The last few games they have been embarrassing their opponents winning in blowouts. This game wasn’t a blowout, but they did win by double digits.
This isn’t the first time an array of Sparks scored in double digits in an embarrassing victory. Candace Parker led all players in the game with 14 rebounds and she added 12 points to her resume.

However, their so called rivals the Minnesota Lynx also won, which means the Sparks are the two seed in the playoffs. If the Lynx were to lose their last game, both teams would have identical records. Also, the Sparks would gain the first overall seed for the post-season because of the tie-breaker they have.

Los Angeles would have liked to have earned the number one seed. They would also like to win the 2017 WNBA Finals. Seeding would be nice for home court advantage. I am sure they are content with the number two seed as that’s where they were last year and won the WNBA FInals.
They way the Sparks have been playing the last few games an entire team as one, they should be able to repeat s WNBA Finals Champions. According to the assists number in box score, the Sparks played as a team. They had 21 to their opponents 13.
In the rebound column, they barely won by two rebounds. LA had a spectacular field goal percentage. They were 37-72 for 51.4% from the field, while their opponents were 24-63 for 38.1%. from the field.
One area they struggled in during the game was their three point shot. They only made one shot from beyond the arc the entire game. If they expect to repeat as champions they need all areas of their game to be consistent.
With all of the right tools and talents in Los Angeles, a second consecutive WNBA Championship seems to be in the works. The LA Sparks head into the postseason with a 26-8 record, the same record they had going into the postseason last year.
