The family brand and new star point guard are coming to the Lakers in style.

Hitting his rookie year in stride, Lonzo Ball hasn’t seemed to miss a beat just yet. One step ahead of him is his father, LaVar, who has helped encourage his first son to get to the NBA and hopes that the younger brothers follow suit.

The reality for all of us is that what LaVar Ball had been saying would happen happened. Los Angeles chose Ball second overall in the 2017 NBA Draft and the impact that the kid has on the team was felt as early as Summer League.

Although his Summer League debut didn’t go as planned, Ball rebounded and got back on his feet after that. Expectations for Lonzo go as high as Rookie of the Year to draft bust — so he’s still got some proving to do.

However, the new family TV show “Ball In The Family”, which has been released via Facebook, has shed a new light on the family as a whole.

It’s gone a little bit into the moving experience for Lonzo and LiAngelo out of home and into their own apartment. The show has also touched on personal notes, such as concerns about LaMelo Ball’s attitude and the way that the family is fighting back after Tina Ball suffered a stroke.

In the show, LaVar can be seen still as his ecstatic and outspoken self, but there’s more of a caring and tender side that interviews on radio shows and TV programs don’t necessarily portray. In particular, how LaVar has taken it upon himself to do speech therapy for his wife instead of letting someone else do it has really given his character a new way to be thought about.

It’s starting to change at least my mind on the Ball family, and I think that would be safe to say was the point from the get-go.
