The Los Angeles Chargers square off against the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football in week one. If the Chargers can accomplish four things they can steal a victory in Denver.

Being a Charger fan has been hard for the last couple of seasons, trust me, I am one. Growing up in the LaDainian Tomlinson area, I was spoiled with the best years in Chargers history without having to suffer the misery of the late nineties and early 2000s. This dry spell has taken me back, even though this Chargers team seems immensely talented.

With Philip Rivers running the offense, anything is possible and the team should be in a position to win every week. Young guys like Melvin Gordon, Keenan Allen, Joey Bosa and Hunter Henry give fans immense promise moving forward. Yet, despite this, the Chargers have only won a combined nine games the last two seasons.

However, 2017 is a new year. The Los Angeles Chargers put together a great showing in the NFL Draft and brought in some key free agent pieces. Young talent is beginning to blossom and hurt players are returning to the field. All the things that held the team back last year seem to be swinging in their favor.

That is why many have the Chargers as their dark horse team to make the postseason. Despite playing in a very tough division, the Los Angeles Chargers would finish 9-7 and sneak into the NFL Playoffs. From there, anything can happen, just ask the Atlanta Falcons.

The Los Angeles Chargers will start their 2017-18 campaign in Denver against the rivaled Denver Broncos. Los Angeles trails Denver in the all-time series 50-64, but if four things happen Monday night, that record could extend to 51-64.
