51. 9. 46. Final. 46

While the Los Angeles Rams ended up winning in their home opener, there were a couple of things that stood out.

Sean McVay probably didn’t even see his regular season debut as the new coach of the Los Angeles Rams going this well. Considering the distraction that the Aaron Donald holdout posed to the team along with the questions as to whether or not Jared Goff is the right guy, Los Angeles answered.

Andrew Luck was not available for the Colts for their Week 1 game in LA, and the Rams showed what happens when they don’t have to face one of the best quarterbacks in the league.

Jared Goff and Todd Gurley did a lot throughout the course of the game, and that should give fans hope for the road ahead for the duo. Offensively, the Rams must keep up a good rhythm and not look back.

Scoring 46 points to start the season is a hard feat to replicate, let alone do one more time throughout the rest of the season. However, this might have been the spark that they needed to get through a tough NFC West — at least for now.

With all of those things in mind coming into the game, here are three major takeaways from the 37-point romping on Sunday afternoon at the Coliseum.
