After beating the pulp out of the Colts in Week 1, the LA Rams met their match versus Washington.

In a clash where the main story was how Rams head coach Sean McVay would handle hosting his old team, Jared Goff didn’t disappoint until the very end. Playing in Week 2 for the first time in his career, Goff has started to show that he can really be the long-term solution for the Rams.

All he’s needed was better weapons, and now that Todd Gurley is back and functioning like his rookie self the Rams are in good hands. Los Angeles let Washington score a touchdown with just under two minutes remaining before Goff made a poor passing decision and threw a pick.

The main concern moving forward for the Rams is the fact that not a lot of fans showed up. Aside from the wins and losses, the empty stadium seats speak volumes when thinking of the decision by the league to okay a vote to take the team from St. Louis to Los Angeles.

Near the Rams, the Los Angeles Chargers are also having the same attendance issue. However, the quickest way for them to fix that is to just keep winning games and tune out the noise.

San Francisco is next up for the team, and for that game they’ll be on the road. In a big division match up, the Rams can’t afford to fall flat in their first game away from Los Angeles in the regular season.

Staying one step ahead of the rest of their division isn’t going to be an easy thing to maintain, but the Rams could really pull it off. The 49ers will be an interesting opponent, as they got the better of the Rams in their first game last season.

Overall, Sean McVay just needs to be sure to be that guy the players can depend on. But they need to move on from this loss quickly and not let any of it linger.
