The Oklahoma City made even more news by acquiring star forward Carmelo Anthony from Knicks. What kind of implications does this leave on the Lakers?

Carmelo Anthony being traded to the New York Knicks is the latest blockbuster in an already hectic offseason. Chris Paul, Jimmy Butler, Paul George, Isaiah Thomas, Kyrie Irving and now Carmelo Anthony highlight a myriad of players that have changed teams this summer.

Unfortunately for the Los Angeles Lakers, they have not been in this superstar frenzy. Although, the team has made some serious improvements with the likes of Lonzo Ball, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Brook Lopez. However, that superstar frenzy should be coming in 2018.  LeBron James joining the Lakers has been the hottest talk of the summer.

Even hotter talks are emerging in who will be LeBron’s partner in crime in Los Angeles. James will not head to LA alone, especially as he continues his ongoing pursuit of Michael Jordan’s legacy. While adding LeBron to this current Lakers team certainly would make them playoff caliber, it would not be enough to win him a championship ring.

So, with that being said, there are many different stars that could be joining LeBron James in Los Angeles. In a way, this Carmelo trade actually helps the Lakers the most and could be a telling sign of who Magic Johnson should bring in alongside the king.

The Carmelo trade certainly did shake up the landscape of the NBA and very well could shake up the Lakers future plans. Therefore, which star now seems the most likely to join Los Angeles in 2018?
