2. DeMarcus Cousins

This one is out of left field, isn’t it? Everyone else on this slideshow has some sort of ties or at least some sort of speculation to join the Los Angeles Lakers.  Heck, three of the four guys on this list play on the same team in Oklahoma City, so Cousins definitely sticks out like a sore thumb on this list.

However, despite there being no real connections to the Lakers since he was a member of the Kings, Cousins has a pretty good chance to be the Lakers sleeper acquisition next offseason.

Thus far from what we have seen over in New Orleans the Cousins, Anthony Davis tandem does not seem to be working out as planned. New Orleans went 12-14 since acquiring Cousins last year. Granted, he did not play in every single game, but the team did lose their first three games with him down low alongside Davis.

Because of this lack of chemistry and the increasingly more talented Western Conference, it may be in Cousins best interest to pack his bags and head back to California to partner up with LeBron James.

LeBron gives Cousins his best shot at competing for a title, no matter where the duo is partnered up. Plus, the door is open in LA with Brook Lopez becoming a free agent after this season. While 2017 will be an extended tryout for Lopez, if he asks for superstar money like Cousins, the wise move would be to go with the better player in Cousins.

There are no players in the way of Cousins that could falter his arrival in LA. Because of that, he has a better chance than both Westbrook and Anthony.
