Los Angeles Dodgers: Constructing the team’s NLDS roster
By Jason Reed
The Los Angeles Dodgers are the first team to reach the century mark and, in doing so, break a 43-year drought. The last time LA won 100 games they lost in the World Series.
It has been an interesting 2017 season for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Heading into September, the team was bulldozing through the opposition and had their sights set on breaking the MLB single-season wins record. Then came an 11-game losing streak, and well, it has been a rollercoaster from there.
This team nearly got swept by the last-place Philadelphia Phillies but took two out of three against the Washington Nationals. Dodger fans do not really know what to expect out of this team. Are they bad? Are they good? Nobody really knows and we likely will not know until the time October rolls around.
To salvage some positives, the losing streak the Los Angeles Dodgers embarked upon at least guided the team to answer some of their questions in regards to the postseason roster. Some unlikely inclusions have stepped up and played well, and some already solid names have proven that they may not be able to handle the October limelight.
Los Angeles does still have five games left in the season and they may be the most telling five games all year-long. Dave Roberts and company will be crafting lineups that not only can answer questions but help them win games to secure home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
We already took a look at some players that were on the bubble for the NLDS roster, now, let’s dive into a full in-depth look at the 25-man roster.
