9. Jordan Farmar

The problem with the point guard position and the Los Angeles Lakers is there have been so many great ones, that played for such a long time, that you eventually run out of starters to include. That is why Jordan Farmar comes in as the ninth-best point guard in Lakers franchise history despite only making seven total starts wearing the purple and gold.

However, what merits him an inclusion on this list is his longevity and the numbers he was able to produce while coming off the bench for all of those seasons. Despite only making seven total starts at a Laker, Farmar is eighth all-time in games played for point guards for the Los Angeles Lakers. Again, longevity gets you something.

Not to mention that Farmar was a key component off of the bench for the Lakers 2009 and 2010 NBA Championships. Playing behind another guy on this list, Farmar gave the Lakers a passing option off of the bench that otherwise was not present in the starting five.

In his five seasons spent with the Los Angeles Lakers, Farmar averaged 7.3 points, 2.5 assists and 1.9 rebounds per game. For someone who exclusively came off the bench, these numbers are pretty solid and likely would have been above league average if he were to become a starter.

It may seem strange for Farmar to make this list, especially with so many great players in Lakers history. However, his consistent play and role in two NBA Championship runs earns him the number nine spot on this list.
