It is that time of year ladies and gentleman, the best time of year, the time for playoff baseball. For the Dodgers, they are gearing up for their first title since 1988.

The Los Angeles Dodgers will start their journey towards their first World Series in 29 years with Game 1 of the National League Division Series (NLDS) on Friday night. The Dodgers history with the NLDS goes back to the first one in 1981.

In 1981 a players strike necessitated the NLDS between a first half and second half division winners. It wasn’t until 1995 that Major League Baseball made the divisional series a permanent part of the playoff landscape.

Since 1995 the Dodgers have made the playoffs 11 times, in that time there have been moments good, bad, and in between. Unfortunately, as the expansion of the baseball playoffs has occurred, so has the Dodgers World Series drought grown.

In those 29 years, the bad has seemingly outweighed the good. Even in the last four postseasons, all of which the Dodgers were a staple in, the team only made it past the NLDS twice. While most organizations would take this kind of success, complacent Dodger fans will not.

With that being said, as us fans prepare for the agony or triumph that is the NLDS, here are five of the worst NLDS moments in Dodgers history.
