5. 0-4 1995-2006

When the divisional round began the Dodgers found the best of five series NLDS difficult to navigate. The Dodgers were 0-4 in their in their first four NLDS series and it was never even close, they went 1-12 while being outscored 73-35 in those four series.

Only in getting swept by the Atlanta Braves in 1996 did the Dodgers pitching ever have an ERA below 5.00. Despite having sluggers Mike Piazza and Eric Karros in 1995 and 1996, the Dodgers hit only two home runs. With bad pitching and bad hitting, the team, of course, was going to struggle in the postseason.

In 2004 and 2006 the Dodgers were outslugged by both the St. Louis Cardinals and New York Mets. Their only saving grace was a 4-0 shutout against the Cardinals in 2004, pitched by Jose Lima, the Dodgers only playoff win for 20 years.

Needless to say, if you watched the Dodgers in the playoffs over these 11 years you didn’t see many positives and if you missed this period, well, you didn’t miss much.
