Dodgers: Ranking the best NLDS moments in Dodger history
By Jamaal Artis
The butterflies, the anxious nerves and the agony or the triumph is finally here. The Dodgers first NLDS against the Diamondbacks is upon us.
Although it’s been 29 years since the Dodgers last made a World Series that doesn’t mean they haven’t had some success in the playoffs. When the baseball playoffs expanded to include the National League Division Series (NLDS) in 1995, the Dodgers would have more chances to make the playoffs.
It didn’t start off that great for the Dodgers as they failed to get past the NLDS round their first four tries, going 0-4 between 1995-2006. But since 2008 the Dodgers have made the playoffs seven times in 10 seasons, including this year.
Unlike their first forays into the NLDS the Dodgers have had more success recently winning four of the six series they’ve played. Breaking their playoff drought has created lots of good moments for the team and their fans, this year holding the best record in baseball hope to add to those moments as they face the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Before the future can be written let’s look back at the past. These are the five best NLDS moments in Los Angeles Dodgers’ history.
