G Eric Bledsoe

Eric Bledsoe played for the Los Angeles Clippers from 2010 to 2013 and it was where the Suns’ star guard started his career. As a Clipper, Bledsoe never blossomed into the great player he is today. The best year he had in Los Angeles was his last, in which he averaged 8.5 points, 3.1 assists and 3.0 rebounds.

Bledsoe was dealt to the Suns in a three-team trade that netted the Clippers J.J. Redick. With Redick and Paul now out of the picture, the team may be looking to bring in a star point guard to contend for a championship. With just two years left on contract, Phoenix may be better suited to get young talent out of the surprise that was Bledsoe.

Last season, Bledsoe averaged 21.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game. Bledsoe is the perfect option to put alongside Blake Griffin; he allows Griffin to remain the number one option but gives the Clippers a playmaker at guard.

However, if the Clippers were to acquire Bledsoe, they may be best suited to move him to shooting guard. While his size could prove costly, Bledsoe’s physicality and demeanor could transition well into the shooting guard position. With Patrick Beverley and Milos Teodosic at the point, there is no room for a third option.

For Bledsoe, the Clippers could send promising young talents in Sam Dekker and Brice Johnson alongside an established guard such as Lou Williams.
