Clippers news: Three reasons it is time to move on from DeAndre Jordan
By Jason Reed
DeAndre Jordan is one-half of a great frontcourt for the Los Angeles Clippers. However, his potential departure could be the biggest Clippers news of the season.
The 2017-18 season is going to be an interesting one for the Los Angeles Clippers. Los Angeles, who has made the postseason six consecutive seasons, is in a weird position. Although the Clippers have the fourth longest active postseason streak, nobody really knows what to expect out of the broken up Lob City as the season transpires.
That is of course, because of the team’s split with star point guard Chris Paul. Paul wanted out of Los Angeles and agreed to a sign and trade deal to the Houston Rockets. Now, his partnership with James Harden seems like it will be interesting, but according to him, will be better than LA. Paul blamed the Clippers culture for him having the ball in his hands too much.
As ridiculous as that sounds, the two sides have moved on. Although the Clippers lost some series star power in Paul, they arguably have gotten much deeper. With the additions of Patrick Beverley, Lou Williams, Sam Dekker, Danilo Gallinari and Milos Teodosic, the Clippers have a solid ten or so man rotation.
Yet still, trade talks revolving DeAndre Jordan have picked up steam as we get closer and closer to the NBA regular season. If the Clippers do want to clean house, Jordan will likely be the first to go. As sad as it may seem, here are three reasons why the Clippers should pull the trigger and trade DeAndre Jordan.
