Los Angeles Dodgers: Greatest World Series moments
By Jamaal Artis
October 24, 2017. The day the Los Angeles Dodgers return to the Fall Classic for the first time since 1988. In honor, let’s relive some of the greatest World Series moments.
After 29 years of missing out on October glory starting with game one, the Los Angeles Dodgers will begin their quest to win their seventh World Series. Before their long drought the Dodgers were once a fixture in the World Series, when they moved to Los Angeles in 1958 the Dodgers proved they were no longer the loveable losers of their Brooklyn days by winning the World Series in 1959.
From there three decades of glory followed as the Dodgers produced great teams that would got to the World Series in the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. Great pitchers like Sandy Koufax, Don Drysdale, and Orel Hershiser put on dominating displays in the fall.
Fernando Valenzuela brought his Mania to the 1981 World Series, and who can forget the most indelible of moments when Kirk Gibson limped around the bases after hitting the greatest home run in Dodgers history.
The 2017 Dodgers will be looking to add their own moments to their World Series history, here are their greatest moments so far.
