5. Sweet Lou goes deep

The Dodgers have played one Game Seven winner take all World Series game, back in 1965 they faced off against the Minnesota Twins. In game seven The Dodgers had Sandy Koufax on the mound on two days rest trying to close out the game on the road.

All year Koufax had pitched the Dodgers to a pennant while getting little run support from anemic Dodgers offense. After three innings journeyman outfielder Lou Johnson gave Koufax all the run support he needed.

Johnson led off the top of the fourth by pulling a pitch down the line that stayed fair that gave the Dodgers a 1-0 lead, another run would give the Dodgers the 2-0 margin to win game seven.  Koufax would complete the game striking out 10, but it was Lou Johnson who provided the spark for the win.
