Lakers Rumors: Why the Lakers should not pursue LeBron James
By Jason Reed
LeBron James has again found himself embedded in the latest Lakers rumors, this time for all the wrong reasons. LA does not need LeBron James.
Sports are a beautiful, funny, messy thing, aren’t they? Every action of every player is inspected with a magnifying glass and amplified by the media. Whether it is a player’s friendship with another or the color of sneakers; everyone things they are Sherlock Holmes and can pinpoint what the next move is. Yet again, a tweet from LeBron James has fueled many Lakers rumors.
James and the city of Los Angeles have had a strong connection since the offseason began. Star point guard Kyrie Irving requested a trade from the Cavs; netting the team Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder and the Nets’ 2018 first round pick in the process.
This looked to be a package that prepared the Cavaliers for a post-LeBron future. LeBron left them out to dry when he left for Miami in 2010 and the Cavs seemingly do not want to be prepared. However, LeBron did say that his plans of retiring as a Cavalier still persist, but as we know, the NBA is a crazy league.
Thus, LeBron added more fuel to the fire with his latest tweet, wishing Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball a happy birthday.

LeBron infamously attended the Lakers Summer League game over the Cavaliers’ back in July, and now, many are speculating that this is yet another calculated move by LeBron James.
LeBron is smarter than that though. He would not lay his plans out on the table for everyone to see. Whether or not he is coming is uncertain. However, as intriguing as it would be to get LeBron, here are three reasons why it is not the right move for the Lakers.
