By Keith Rivas
The latest Lakers news of Kyle Kuzma getting starting time deserves a fair evaluation now — and it’s time for LA to take things to the next level.
While it’s unfortunate that Larry Nance Jr. will be out for several weeks with an injury, the good thing for Los Angeles is that they’ll get to see more of what rookie sensation Kyle Kuzma really brings to the table.
The former Ute showed flashes of the chemistry he can have with Lonzo Ball when they share the floor together, and on top of that can score consistently and be a leading presence on this team moving forward.
He has managed a double double in both of his starting opportunities, and will likely continue to surprise everyone as the season goes on. Summer League is one thing, but up to this point — and that’s ten games into the season — it’s looking like Kuzma could be the smartest move in terms of adjustments to the starting lineup. The injury to Larry Nance Jr. presents the perfect chance for the rookie to cement his stay in the starting five.
That being said, let’s take a look at the five reasons that permanently starting Kyle Kuzma is the right thing for Los Angeles to do from here on out.
