Los Angeles Dodgers: Five steps to return to the World Series next season

The Los Angeles Dodgers fell short in their first World Series appearance in 29 years. Now, what steps can the team take to ensure they return to the Fall Classic?
Nothing sports related has hurt more than making it all the way to game seven of the World Series only to lose in a 5-1 dud. Everything went right this season for the Los Angeles Dodgers. The magical comebacks happened weekly, every bounce play and break went their way. For the first time since Kirk Gibson‘s trot in 1988, it seemed to be the Dodgers year.
Congratulations to the Houston Astros for derailing this Dodger fairy tale and bringing a World Series trophy to the city of Houston. However, now, Dodger fans are left in a state of uneasiness. Yes, the team made it to the World Series and is still one of the best team’s in the league. However, you can’t help but feel like they missed their chance.
Fans had to wait 29 years in between World Series berths. Sure, that is a short amount of time compared to other long droughts in baseball history, but it is painful for Dodger fans. Could this be the start of a long streak? There are so many uncertainties, that even I — at 19 years old — am worried about how old I will be when they win their next World Series.
The Dodgers still have the foundation to be successful, but there are some steps to take to return to the Fall Classic in 2018. Baseball is a yearly grind and if the Dodgers want to replicate the 2014-2015 Royals then they must take some key steps.
The last thing fans want to hear right now is the infamous “There’s always next year!” However, here are five steps the Dodgers can take to make next year their year.
