2. OF Joc Pederson

This one pains me to say. Were the Dodgers to win game seven of the World Series, barring any miraculous performance from one player, Joc Pederson would have been the World Series MVP. Now, there is a possibility that the Boys in Blue move on from Pederson and his softball-like swing. As my personal favorite Dodger, this move would be a blow.

Pederson was perhaps the only consistent bat for the Dodgers in the World Series. The 25-year-old slugger blasted three home runs and two doubles for five RBIs. Pederson, who is not known for putting the bat on the ball often, walked away with a .333 batting average in the World Series.

However, this does not take away from the woes Pederson had all season long that have dated back to his rookie year. Although Pederson can hit the ball as far as anyone, his long looping swing naturally causes a plethora of strikeouts. Thus, Pederson finished the regular season with a .212 batting average and even had an extended stint in AAA Oklahoma City.

Now, Pederson’s trade value is at an all-time high. With other options available, the Dodgers could look to cash in on Pederson’s increased worth. Andrew Toles and Alex Verdugo both fill the same role as Pederson: a left-handed hitting left fielder. Arguably, both men can fill that role better as well.

Pederson would thrive in a small ballpark like Yankee Stadium. The Yankees have showcased they will acquire sluggers with low averages (Todd Frazier) so maybe a deal can be in the works. At the end of the day, personally, I hope that Pederson stays with the Dodgers.
