The latest Lakers rumors provide viable options in free agency that aren’t necessarily big names.

If you’re the Lakers front office right now, there is plenty running through your mind already. Trying to keep LaVar Ball in check while also deciding what pieces of your young core to keep around can be a tough juggling act.

Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka are doing just that, though, and in addition to those situations and circumstances, they have some tremendous decisions to make over the summer. Who should they try to go after in free agency, and what other risks should they take when it comes to potential trade deals and the annual draft?

Lots of questions, not many answers as of now for the purple and gold.

The two names that continue to pop up on the radar for Los Angeles include Paul George and LeBron James, however news broke Thursday morning that the chances of James leaving Cleveland for LA aren’t likely anymore.

This could leave the Lakers in a bit of a pickle. What if talks with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope go nowhere and he tests the waters elsewhere along with Brook Lopez? Both have expiring contracts and them leaving Los Angeles would mean the purple and gold will have to also look other places.

With that in mind, here is a list of seven dark horse free agents that provide possible signing opportunities for the Los Angeles Lakers if all else fails them between now and next year.
