The Los Angeles Lakers have a new jersey designed by Kobe Bryant that combines black and gold, with a snake skin appearance.

Do you really think another team made a better jersey than the Lakers when it comes to the city alternates?

The short and long answer to that question is an emphatic no. There were several designs that made me scratch my head, but there were still a lot of good ones that will be fun to see. In particular, I feel that Milwaukee, Charlotte, and Philadelphia did the best with the exception of doing better than LA.

Having a black and gold :Lakers jersey is a great new look for fans to enjoy, and the best part is that it doesn’t come with the sleeves that the league thought was a good thing for a little bit. It’s a new design, and really speaks to the new era of basketball that the franchise is going through.

If I am honest, the Lakers really needed something major to change in order to turn the ship around and prevent the season from getting ugly. Guys like Kyle Kuzma and Lonzo Ball, who have a chance to be the new young faces of the Lakers in the immediate future, are known for doing what they can to make their own unique fashion statements.

The reason the Lakers jerseys stand out is because we’re so used to seeing them in either purple, gold, or white as the main jersey color. This new addition to their collection is basic and bold at the same time, and isn’t as hard on the eyes as, say, the the Utah Jazz’ multi-colored fiasco.

Los Angeles has lost their last three and will host the Memphis Grizzlies at Staples Center tonight while Lonzo Ball will miss time with a shoulder issue.
