Los Angeles Lakers: Three New Year’s resolutions for the team
By Keith Rivas
The Los Angeles Lakers need to be sure to shake things up in 2018.
No longer can we afford the soft response of needing more time or needing more faith in Lonzo Ball. At some point, this team is either going to perform under the expectations that have been placed on them or not.
And we have to leave emotions out of it if we can.
Magic Johnson promised when he took over as the president of the team last year that things would be on their way back to a good place. It’s hard to really assert a solid answer to where they are now, as a lot of what they’re banking on at this point is potential.
They still have no long-term answer at shooting guard or center, and too many questions remain on who might actually be on the team as soon as next season, let alone before the All-Star break and trade deadline.
That being said, it’s a new year and there is still some time for Los Angeles to really figures things out and develop a game plan to get back to being a championship-caliber squad. They’ve got the young talent to do that, and enough free agency to potentially lure a superstar, so what gives?
Well, here’s the three New Year’s resolutions I have for the Los Angeles Lakers as it pertains to their biggest glaring issues as they dive into the new year while still dealing with their old self.
