Los Angeles Lakers should consider trading Brandon Ingram
By Keith Rivas
It’s time for the Los Angeles Lakers to show us what they’re about.
If the Los Angeles Lakers expect to actually make headlines and acquire a true superstar, they have to first still figure out just how important some pieces of this young core really are. With Lonzo Ball being out for a short time, we’ve seen that nobody else really has stepped up to the plate and taken on that leadership role.
Is that fair to put the blame for that scenario on Brandon Ingram, though?
Well, when you consider how untouchable Magic Johnson made him sound over the summer, absolutely.
How are the Lakers supposed to progress anywhere when they don’t have a leader? It makes going in any direction harder, with the exception of down, as they’ve done. If the front office were at least to start testing the waters with what they could get with Brandon Ingram alone or as part of a package, it’d be a step in the right direction.
Add the fact that the two superstars Los Angeles has been rumored to be fascinated with in the coming summer are both small forwards, it makes little sense to keep Ingram unless either a position change or bench role is coming and welcomed.
Also, Paul George seems to still be open to being traded to LA, and a deal with the Thunder could wind up being the most likely spot for Brandon Ingram.
However, if the Lakers really think that Ingram is going to be that guy alongside Lonzo Ball and now Kyle Kuzma, then by all means keep him non the team. But it makes no sense to me that they don’t really have a clear cut plan on what to do with everyone.

Part of me wants to believe that they’re just afraid of making some sort of colossal mistakes like the previous front office, but if they don’t take the risk, they can’t exactly reap the reward.
