Paul George has been the biggest rumored target to land on the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018. However, he is not the savior that many are expecting.

Nothing is more talked about in the Staples Center than Paul George joining the Los Angeles Lakers. The Los Angeles native has been naturally tied to his hometown team for over a year now. From Indiana to Oklahoma City, the massive Lakers cloud has not been able to escape George, no matter how he is performing on his current team.

This is because of LA’s reliance on superstars. Laker fans were spoiled with 20 years of Kobe Bryant, one of the best players in NBA history. However, with those 20 years came a franchise that was not ready for his retirement. Thus, as Kobe Bryant fell to a multitude of injuries and eventually father time, so did the Lakers.

Now, the Lakers are deep in a rebuilding stage that has lasted multiple years. This has been so unlike the Lakers, who are arguably the most illustrious team in the NBA. Los Angeles has missed the playoffs only nine times since 1948. Four of those misses came in the last four seasons.

Thus, the superstar speculation naturally found it’s way to George, who has more ties to the Lakers to anyone else. Many assume George is coming to save the Lakers, that George being a Laker in 2018 is inevitable.

However, George is not and should not be the savior that Laker fans expect him to be. Thus, here are three reasons why Paul George is not the Lakers’ answer.
