How the Los Angeles Dodgers lineup should look in 2018
By Jason Reed
3. Justin Turner
Corey Seager may be the best all-around hitter for the Los Angeles Dodgers, or it very well could be Justin Turner. Regardless of whichever side of the argument you fall on, it cannot be denied that the Dodgers have one of the best two-three hitters in all of baseball. That will without a doubt continue into the 2018 season.
When Turner is hot he is nearly impossible to get out. The entire world saw that in the NLDS and NLCS when Turner put the Dodgers offense on his back. The third baseman finally received the recognition he deserves after hitting .387 with three home runs (including a walk-off in game two of the NLCS) and 12 RBIs.
However, for Dodger fans, this is just another taste of what Turner is capable of. 2017 was the best year of his career; Turner hit .322 in 130 games played with 21 home runs and 70 RBIs. If he was completely healthy he would have slugged well over 21 home runs and could have flirted with 200 hits.
Turner proved he belongs in the MLB elite last season with the fifth-best batting average and 14th best WAR — according to FanGraphs — in the league. While the window of his prime may be closing for the 33-year-old, 2018 will give Turner one more chance to prove to the entire MLB that he belongs as the third hitter on the deepest roster in baseball.
