The Los Angeles Rams went out and got more secondary help in the fourth round in Texas A&M safety, Armani Watts. Rookie John Johnson and third-year player Lamarcus Joyner held down the two safety spots last season. However, like Donald, Joyner is entering his first year of free agent eligibility and very well could walk away from the Los Angeles Rams.

That lives a hole to fill in the secondary. Even if Joyner returns, the Rams could use the depth at safety in different packages.

Regardless, the need isn’t too much where the Rams need to waste an early pick on it. However, it is a need nonetheless and a fourth round selection may be the perfect time to pull the trigger. That is where Watts comes in to help sum up the holes.

Being a senior, Watts is physically matured enough to make the immediate transfer to the NFL. The 5’11” safety played in 12 games last season, making 87 total tackles with ten being for loss and four interceptions.

Watts is a great option against the run game, and with proper coaching, could develop into an average NFL safety against the pass. Watts certainly will not light the league up in his rookie year, but would be a great addition to the team coming out of the fourth round.
