The Los Angeles Dodgers have consistently boasted one of the best farm systems in baseball. That is no different heading into 2018.

There have been some great graduates from the Los Angeles Dodgers‘ farm system in recent years. Unlike past years, most of the Dodgers’ talent has either been homegrown or have been sneaky good pickups that were developed in the Dodgers’ farm system, anyway.

Joc Pederson, Corey Seager and Cody Bellinger are the latest products of the Dodgers’ farm system. Right fielder Yasiel Puig was homegrown following his international signing, as was pitching phenom Julio Urias. Austin Barnes was brought up through the farm, Chris Taylor turned into a star after refining his swing in the minors.

It is apparent that the Dodgers have a knack for turning guys into stars and picking out great prospects. The outlook looks no different in 2018; the Dodgers yet again have one of the best farm systems in baseball to match their already deep Major League roster. LA is setting itself up for many, many years of success.

Thus, the Dodgers have formed a pretty formidable top five of prospects. Each one different from the other, each specializing in their own craft. Of course, each of the five also has an MLB counterpart to compare them to.

We used Baseball America’s top ten Dodgers prospect list to determine the top five prospects in the farm system.
