3/29 – 4/1 vs. the San Francisco Giants @ Dodger Stadium

Get ready, Dodger fans. It’s time to pick out your favorite LA tee and start singing the glorious words of “I Love LA,” because, on March 29th, baseball will finally return to the Ravine. Whether you are a team fated for the postseason or are preparing for another year of rebuilding, the Opening Series is always important.

For the Dodgers, this series means far more than just a matchup between two rivals. Here’s the thing about making it to the World Series, it doesn’t end with the final out of the final game. The World Series, and what the final result of it is, means a great deal in the new season’s first few games. The Dodgers need to start the season off strong, if they don’t, Game Seven could become far more relevant than it needs to be.

This series also matters because it’s baseball’s first look at the Giants in 2018. Last season, they failed to hold on to a record above .500. Last season, the Giants were defined by an inconsistent bullpen and Madison Bumgarner‘s injury.

The narrative of last season may no longer be relevant for San Francisco. But, because the two rivals will face each other 19 times over the course of the season, these first few games may reveal whether or not that chapter is over for the Giants.
