Following a strong 9-7 season that just missed the postseason, here is our first 2018 NFL Mock Draft for the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Los Angeles Chargers surprised a lot of people in 2017, well, kind of. Many picked the Chargers are a sleeper team before the season to make a postseason run. After a 0-4 start, though, the Chargers were not looking too keen and tanking for a high draft pick seemed to be the most logical plan.

Instead, the Chargers refused to give up and finished the year with a 9-3 record. All three of those losses came against playoff teams, two of those three came against the Jaguars and Patriots; the two teams in the AFC Championship game.

In fact, the Chargers had some bad luck that kept them from showing how good they really are. Let’s say the Chargers didn’t muff the two kicks to start the year, didn’t allow the Eagles to run the ball for six minutes at the end of the game, didn’t make a coaching mistake in Jacksonville, Travis Benjamin didn’t run into a safety in Foxborough.

The Chargers could have a 14-2 record. Really, the only two games where a critical mistake was not made was the two Chiefs games. Good teams don’t make that many critical mistakes, I get it, but this is an inexperienced team with a new head coach. The talent is there; all they need is the final touches.

That is what the 2018 NFL Draft is for. Thus, as a Charger fan, I am extremely excited about the draft and the 2018 season. Thus, here is our first complete Chargers’ 2018 NFL mock draft.
