With their latest win, the LA Clippers showed us that maybe they should let their emotions get the best of them.

What a return to the home of the LA Clippers in Los Angeles for Houston guard Chris Paul. While the Rockets managed to lose the game on the scoreboard, they also helped spark all sorts of emotions from both sides in a way that’s only going to benefit the Clippers.

Los Angeles needed something to put a fire under their belly to figure things out the way they’ve been going this season, and now they have that. After their win over the Rockets, the current winning streak for LA jumped to five games, showing them in seventh place overall.

Guess what that’d mean for the playoffs? Oh yeah, a trip to Houston.

There were just as many emotions shed after the game as there were during, with the fortunate thing being that nothing got too out of line in front of or behind closed doors. But it did make for some strange storylines, including Chris Paul and teammates taking a back way to try and get at Austin Rivers in the Clippers’ locker room.

What this means moving forward for LA is that it’s crucial for them to be emotional if that means that it’s going to bring the best out of them. They’re going to need every drop of emotion they can muster in the second half of the season, despite doing well as of late and also winning eight of their last ten.

A game and a half is all that separates LA from moving even further up in the standings to fifth, where the Thunder currently sit with the Pelicans in-between them as of right now.

Next up for them is their third consecutive home game as they host the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night.
