Trading Kemba Walker has been the biggest NBA Rumor to emerge. Naturally, Walker has made his way into Lakers rumors as well.

Kemba Walker is one of the best point guards in the NBA and has always been one of the most entertaining as well. Walker’s handles are matched only by the NBA’s elite and his stepback jumper may be the best in the league. The product of the University of Connecticut is averaging 21.7 points, 5.8 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.2 steals in his seventh NBA season.

Walker is locked down until the end of next season. Walker’s $12 million annual salary is very favorable, making him a perfect fit for any NBA team.

The Charlotte Hornets recognize the trade value that Walker possesses. Charlotte also recognizes that the team is not going to compete for any titles with their current group of guys. With an 18-25 record and only one more year of control on Walker, a trade seems to be the best move. That way, the Hornets can also free up one of their larger contracts.

Thus, the team is reportedly open to trading Walker, if they can get a large salary off of the books. With Walker’s star power, and the Lakers‘ need for a star, trading for Walker becomes a natural fit.

Well, kind of.

While I am sure that any Laker fan would be overjoyed to acquire Walker, it still would leave a lot unanswered for the Lakers. The cap space would still be an issue, bringing in another star would still be a roadblock.

However, getting Walker at least gets that established star on the roster. With some big names in free agency this summer, it may indeed be the Lakers’ best chance at contending in the future. Thus, here are three ways the Lakers can net Kemba Walker.
