Lakers trade rumors: Eight targets to watch for at the trade deadline
By Jason Reed
SG Avery Bradley
The Detroit Pistons are playing fairly well this season, proving they can hang with the NBA’s elite. A part of this resurgence for the Detroit Pistons has been new addition Avery Brabringingingnig much-needed perimeter defense with an above average scoring ability. One problem lies, though; Bradley can walk after this season.
As great as the Pistons have been, they likely still cannot overcome the Cavaliers, Celtics and even Wizards in the Eastern Conference. Instead of going all-in on a prayer this season, the Pistons’ front office may realize the long-term investment they can make with Avery Bradley.
Thus, the Pistons may inquire about Jordan Clarkson, who would fit in nicely at shooting guard in this Pistons’ offense. Sure, his defense may not be as good, but in the starting five, Clarkson certainly has 20 points per game potential. Both teams would come out even in this deal, but, the Pistons would be looking towards the future.
Again, this opens up salary cap for the offseason. Acquiring Bradley gives the Lakers $12 million more in cap space for the offseason; which may make or break the super team dreams in Tinseltown.
