4. RF Vladimir Guerrero

Yes, the first Hall of Fame inductee to ever represent the Los Angeles Angels is only the fourth best hitter in franchise history. And yes, Guerrero is the only Hall of Famer on this list, in case you were wondering.

However, this is simply a testament to how good Guerrero was in his short tenure with the Angels. Six seasons is not necessarily the longest tenure. If Guerrero were to play his entire career with the Angels — which does not happen often, we know — he would be up to second on this list. Yes, still only second.

Aside from his last season with the Angels in which he only played 100 games, Guerrero averaged 27.94 Off per season (which is barely under being considered great). His best year came in his first year with the Angels, 2004, in which he became only the second Angel to win an MVP. Guerrero hit .337 with 39 home runs and 124 RBIs.

Overall, Guerrero was elected to four All-Star Games during his tenure in Southern California as well as winning four Silver Slugger awards. He ranks:

  • Sixth in home runs
  • Sixth in RBIs
  • Tenth in runs

Vladimir Guerrero was a huge part of my childhood growing up and was an even bigger part of the game of baseball. Thus, everyone should remember the outfielder who could literally hit pitches that bounced.
