Julius Randle has been the subject of serious Lakers trade rumors heading towards the NBA Trade Deadline. Who could LA target for Randle’s services?

First round draft picks, expiring contracts, the list goes on and on. The Los Angeles Lakers could get a variety of returns for Julius Randle, who already seems to have one foot of the door in Los Angeles.

Randle’s name has been included in Lakers trade rumors dating back to last offseason. Initially, Randle seemed to be a piece that could be thrown in with Luol Deng to free cap space. Now, with Randle likely walking away as a restricted free agent after the season, Los Angeles simply may look to get something out of Randle.

Quite frankly, it should not be hard for the Los Angeles Lakers to find a trade for Julius Randle. He is young, he is talented and as a restricted free agent could be under team control for several more years. Randle checks the boxes for contending teams, rebuilding teams and in between teams. Whether he is a starter or a role player, Randle can bring so much to any team he suits up on.

Ironically, except the team he is actually on. With the emergence of Kyle Kuzma and the failure to agree to an extension, Randle is the odd man out in Los Angeles. Even Randle likely knows that in a weeks time he will be in a different city.
